As above I feel that the board have acted due to the (sometimes over the top) reaction of a section of our fanbase.

Weve won 13 points out of 18 achieved since "the announcement", is Connell Rawlinson going to better that? Its the correct decision, made in an erratic manner.

Upwards and onwards, hopefully we get play offs and give Phil Parkinson a go in the Conference. #utfs

I think Callum deserved better support from the Board. They have given in too easily to toxic opinions. If I thought they had a plan to put in place I’d be happier, but I don’t think they have. Are they expecting an interim solution/manager to get the team into the play offs? Then why sack him?

To be fair I think the board gave him more than enough time and backing. They stuck by him before Christmas when it would have been easy to pull the plug then. They backed him repeatedly in the transfer market with funds for players also. It's just not worked out.

Let’s agree to differ shall we.

Yeah course. Just for curiousities sake on my part though. What do you think the board could have done to support him more this season in your view?

Apologies Alan, the Seal asked for comments. I’ve made mine. All the best 💙⚽️

Cal walked around the pitch after the Spennymoor game waving to the few fans still hanging around. Many were young kids. I thought it odd at the time - this was shortly before the announcement of his departure was made. Now, on reflection it was quite sad. He is a Chester fan who became our Manager and that is pretty unique I would guess. I think he deserved a proper send-off.

Cal gave us some of best moments in recent times, except one season under Burr, been a bit rubbish since Neil Young. I know this is best for all but still gutted it hasn't panned out this season. After last year, felt like we had a chance, poor signings have let Cal down. Wishing Cal the best for the future.

Being eternally positive, I was thinking that this move is so the board can see if someone can keep this mini run going, with solid momentum... and sneak into an unlikely playoff berth.

Then reality kicks in, and I realise it probably isn't that at all. I just hope the last 10 games aren't 'wasted' when there is still pride, points, pounds, and paying punters to consider.

COYB. It's technically only February, so keep on going. Do Cal proud.

The correct decision, in the end. Regardless of reaching the play-off final last season, no other manager would have lasted as long, given how poor this season has been.

Anyone coming in needs to have the remit to review the football side of the club, from top to bottom. More football expertise is needed to help the board, who are making good progress in so many other areas.

This is an opportunity to review where we are and ask the questions needed.

We can't go on arguing and fighting with each other whenever we lose football matches. Is it the individuals on the board who are the issue, or does the structure leave them too exposed?

Is just changing manager going to bring us the success we all want, or is more radical change needed, while remaining the fan owned club we are so proud to be?

The correct decision for all parties. Rawlinson is part of the current setup and should not be an interim solution.

Right decision. Gives him time to find work elsewhere and gives us all a lift now. Hopefully we can get back to getting behind players and staff without back biting and arguing from bench and with the crowd.

Strange timing really but probably explains why no playing recruitment done these last couple of weeks . Hopefully when the dust settles we can reflect on CMs reign in a good positive manner.

Looks like Rawlinson as interim boss with a couple of issues to sort . Going to need a fullback as Roberts is going next week and a striker potentially as well.

Anyway good luck for the future CM

This is probably the best decision in the long run and after today’s result Calium leaves on a high note.

Hopefully whoever the candidate that the board would like to take the reins next season gets a chance to look at our squad and can then have the summer to recruit his team .
