Who takes the Chester job? The potential candidates and where things stand
The Blues have started the search for Calum McIntyre's successor at the Deva
The search for who will be the manager of Chester Football Club has already begun. It is, it must be stressed, at the very early stages.
After it was announced ahead of the weekend defeat at home to Radcliffe on Saturday that boss Calum McIntyre, after almost four years in charge, would be leaving at the end of the season upon the expiry of his contract, the matter of just who leads the side into the summer and beyond has come to the forefront of supporters’ minds.
There are, of course, 16 games remaining for Chester this season, and a lot at stake, with McIntyre tasked with guiding the team to a positive finish for the remaining months of his tenure. Whatever happens, this will be his final season as boss.
But who comes in? Is Chester, a fan-owned club with budgetary constraints that are well documented when compared with some of the rivals against whom they compete, whose transfer kitty is bolstered by the personal wealth of their owners, an attractive proposition?
