Quite when Chester will name the manager who will be in the dugout for the start of next season remains unclear.
Ever since it was initially announced that former boss Calum McIntyre would be leaving his position, which was to be at the end of this season before his exit was expedited at the end of last month, the Blues have been on the hunt for who succeeds him.
The state of play as of this morning, as it has been for a little while now, is that Chester have their man and his assistant, with a deal agreed and some formalities to complete before announcement.
