Blues fans have warmed to this new squad and its management team very quickly. Winning tends to do plenty of heavy lifting when it comes to fostering good relations between players, staff and fans. At present, fans are well within their rights to display a little braggadocio, for you have to enjoy good moments as and when they arrive, because otherwise what is the point? It becomes utterly joyless.
As the old adage goes, a week is a long time in football. Chester in all likelihood won’t be going through this season with an unblemished record where disappointment was completely absent. That is acknowledged, and for many this season will be a success if progress is shown to be made on and off the field, which appears to be happening right now.
