Fin Shrimpton and Tom Peers celebrate (CHARLIE STOCKTON)

This was most definitely a point game, and most definitely a sign that this Chester side have the stomach and guile to make an unlikely play to sneak into the play-offs.

Kidderminster Harriers were the form team in the National League North coming into the game having won their last four games. But Chester were right up there with them, with three wins in succession. But there was a feeling that it could have been a step too far in the era, however temporary, of ‘Rawl Ball’.

Chester might fall short this season, and given the games are running out that is a distinct possibility. But it’s shaping up for the most intriguing of run-ins for the Blues.
