Play-offs it is then!

In the end a goalless draw at home to a relegation-threatened King’s Lynn Town was enough to see Chester into the top seven, and for their Norfolk visitors to secure survival on the final day.

That interim boss Connell Rawlinson described the feeling as “bittersweet” in his post-match analysis told the story of where this Chester side is at right now, and how not to finish fifth was seen as some kind of disappointment.
