Phil Parkinson will assess whether or not the time is right for Chester to bring back Jacob Hazel into the fold as injuries and suspensions start to bite the Blues.
Parkinson watched his side fall to a narrow 1-0 loss at home to Hednesford Town at the Deva Community Stadium on Saturday in a game that was shrouded in controversy due to the officiating of referee Samuel Bragg, who sent off Chester’s Connor Murphy 20 seconds into the second half for a second yellow card.
Chester, already a goal down after conceding seconds before the end of the first half, could have wilted and been on the end of a bruising defeat by the Pitmen given they played practically all the second half with 10 men, but they put their shoulder to the wheel and took the game to the visitors. They fell short in terms of getting something from the game, but the willingness and desire to not throw the towel in was acknowledged and appreciated by the home faithful.
That willingness to leave it all out on the pitch came at a physical cost, however.
