Mike Wilde not in frame for Chester job, as one potential name also exits picture
Blues legend had been mooted as a potential successor to Calum McIntyre from next season
Former Chester striker Mike Wilde isn’t one of the names in the frame to take over as Blues boss from next season.
Wilde etched his name into Chester folklore after the club’s reformation with a goal-laden spell between 2010 and 2012 that saw him plunder 46 goals in 76 games, helping the club to back-to-back-promotions before departing for The New Saints of the Welsh Premier League.
His time in Wales would be a fruitful one in front of goal, with Wilde netting more than 200 goals across spells with TNS, Flint Town United and Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Wilde was appointed boss of Welsh side Colwyn Bay in May 2024, naming another former Chester player, Danny Harrison, as his assistant.
