Festus Arthur leaves Chester for National League North rivals
Central defender joined the Blues from Southport back in September
Festus Arthur has left Chester by mutual consent and signed for the Blues’ National League North rivals King’s Lynn Town.
Arthur, 25, joined the Blues in late September having been at Southport, with the imposing German-born central defender having taken in spells during his career at Stockport County, Barrow and FC Halifax Town.
Following his arrival, Arthur started four league games in a row for the Blues, but after being given the run-around in the 3-0 FA Cup first round loss at Cambridge United, he spent the best part of two months out of the team, coming back into the fold on Boxing Day for the 3-1 loss at AFC Telford United due to illness in the Blues camp, taking a place on the bench.
He earned a starting spot for the 2-0 win over Macclesfield Town on December 30, starting the five games after that. But his appearance in the dismal 3-0 loss to Peterborough Sports on January 24 was to be his last and he was absent from the last two Blues squads, with The Seal revealing on Monday he had been transfer listed by the club.
He has now inked a deal with King’s Lynn, a side who sit two points and one place above the bottom four in the National League North.
Chester will assess other targets for their options at the heart of defence for the remainder of the campaign.

Makes me nervous whenever he's on the ball.
Thank fuck
