Chester fail in attempt to bring back Charlie Caton on loan, as search goes on
Blues had looked to try and get a loan deal done for Accrington striker
Welcome to your morning edition of The Seal.
The wait for a new striker to lead the line at Chester goes on as the Blues have been stymied thus far in terms of nailing down the targets that they had.
The lack of a recognised striker on the pitch to start the 2-2 home draw against Alfreton Town on Tuesday evening, while four forward players were on the bench, probably speaks to the lack of clinical options in the final third that boss Calum McIntyre feels he has at present.
When and how that gets resolved remains to be seen, but there are 14 National League North games remaining and a lot still to play for, so there a deal will have to manifest itself sooner rather than later, but finding a striker who can do what Chester require, and on loan, is proving to be a challenge.
Here’s the latest from the Deva Stadium.
